The Children’s Ministry at Faith Bible Church exists to come alongside parents encouraging and supporting their role in bringing up the children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph 6:4).

We teach that Biblical Parenting uses the Bible in the home and at all times to diligently teach their Children the things of the Lord  (Deut 6:4-25).

The following excerpt is a simple breakdown of how and what is done in Biblical Parenting. This excerpt comes from the book by John MacArthur and Grace Community Church in Sun Valley,
Parenting for Life:

“We are to consider ourselves “ambassadors for Christ” (2 Cor 5:20) in every area of life. For parents, this means being a faithful steward (1 Cor 4:2) in using biblical principles to raise our children. We are to call our children to be reconciled to God (2 Cor 5:18) and to serve the Lord (Col 3:20):

How do we Parent? According to Eph 6:4 “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Admonish (Eph. 6:4) and Training (Prov. 22:6) =

  1. Through example (Phil. 1:21): “21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
  2. In life situations (see Dt. 6:6-7);
  3. By Q&A (use their curiosity; see Dt. 6:20-25);
  4. Formal Teaching in the home and at Church

What do we Teach our Children? To Fear God = Know his attributes (Phil. 3:10), To Worship God (Jn. 4:23), To Please God (Psa. 128), To Submit and Obey Authority (Eph 6:1-3; Heb 13:7, 17; Rom 13; 1 Pet 2:13-15)”

During our Sunday gatherings, we aim to introduce and lead the children to the fear of the Lord growing them in the knowledge of Him (Prov. 9:10). We do that through planned lessons that present them with stories of the Bible, the good news about the gospel and their need for salvation (Rom 3:23).

Our goal is to glorify God through the spreading of the Gospel among our children, strengthening of our families, our church and our community and building up the kingdom of Christ.
