Mission & Purpose

Home Groups allow Believers to participate in our philosophy of ministry through “continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42). Although we do not have apostles with us today, their teaching is recorded for us in Scripture and carried out through gifted local Church leaders. Home Groups allow all believers to edify one another with their spiritual giftedness (Rom 12:6-8; 1 Peter 4:10-11).  Because of the premium that Scripture puts on involvement in the local church, a home group ministry seeks to foster in God’s people a deepening love for and commitment to the church, as well as a biblical understanding of what it means to function as the church.

Who Teaches?

The Pastors of Faith Bible Church are heavily involved in home groups. Pastors either teach or work closely with men who are growing and able to teach (1 Timothy 3:2). If a Pastor is not directly involved, these men consist of qualified deacons, seminary students who aspire to the office of Pastor/Elder, and mature men. With these standards the Pastors facilitate ‘sound teaching’ in the home (Titus 1:9).
